Randy Erkson
1. How did you get into your sport of choice? My brother Rodney has been cycling for many years competitively and recreationally without injuries. After several years of other sports and dealing with injuries I thought cycling would be a healthier alternative.
2. How long have you been training? I have been athletic my whole life, but have only been training in cycling for about four months.
3. Have you suffered any major injuries? No! Except for the pain in my legs and my suffering ego. The guys I ride with show no mercy to the weak. Me! Elliot, Eric, Greg and Warren. I wouldn’t want it any other way, and after they read this I’m sure I can expect a pain fest.
4. Tell us about some of your race results if you have any? I have not been brave enough to venture into racing yet.
5. Do you have any funny or interesting stories you would like to share? Our first epic ride on April 2nd was full of a wide range of terrain which included rolling hills, nice flats, and over 7000ft of climbing which was some of the hardest I’ve experienced. The views were exceptional. But what really made it a great ride were the people I was riding with. I can’t wait to do it again!

6. Any tips or comments for beginners (our target market) you would like to share? Cycling is a great sport it offers a camaraderie and lifestyle that once experienced can’t be ignored it’s a great suffer fest I can’t live without. Surrounds yourself with people that are going to push you to your fullest. Have fun, eat well, and ride smart.
